Professionals: Safeguard Your Body of Work. It Is Your Responsibility

A couple of weeks ago, a mentee told me that her previous company removed all the content she wrote for them from their revamped site.

She needed that content to showcase it during an interview and was in a fix because the content was nowhere to be found.

I pointed her to archive.org, and she still could not find her work. It took some deep digging to find them.

Anyway, the point is this can happen to anyone, so it is your responsibility to back up the work you create, either inside a Google drive, dropbox.

If your work features words on the web, save it in a private folder to avoid duplication issues. But wherever possible, publish it on your site.

And also, include it inside a private portfolio that you continuously update every month to use it whenever you want.
