How To Achieve Success With One Simple Habit

Alice Schroeder in her #1 NY Times Bestselling book The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life shared about the time when Warren Buffett first met Bill Gates.

Their host at dinner, Gates’ mother, asked everyone present to identify what they believed was the single most important factor in their success through life. Gates and Buffett gave the same one-word answer: “Focus.”

The Snowball Warren Buffett Biography

Simple word. Difficult to practice.

Why is it so hard to FOCUS?

Because we have so much to do and so many distractions.

One Simple Habit To Help You Focus

What if there was a way to crack the focus code?

Guess what today is your lucky day.

You can be focused without practicing meditation or excercising in the morning. Doing these won’t hurt but you can manage without these.

How?

It’s simple.

Pick one daily action that is linked to your biggest goal. Do that action every day without breaking the chain.

Because you are doing one action every day it is important that you pick the right action. How do you do that?

By thinking, by looking in the past, and by exploring and reading what has worked for others.

THINK what is it that comes easily to you, what you are good at.

LOOK BACK and see what has worked for you in the past.

LEARN from the life experiences of those who have done what you want to do. Look up case studies. Listen to interviews. Make a note about the actions that gave them maximum returns. If you know someone like that then talk to that person.

Now pick one action that is at the intersection of what has worked for others, and what you are good at.

This should not be too hard.

For someone willing to be an author or looking to grow their business using content marketing, that daily action can be writing. Write every day.

If you are a model and fitness is key to your succes then work on your body for an hour every day.

If you are looking to grow your business. Then reconnect with someone you know (old, current, or potential client) and tell them that you have been thinking of them, email one person you admire, over time you’ll start a conversation so start making an offer (sell/send a proposal) every day.

You can start yourself, analyze your results and create a system for others to do it for you.

For any action that you pick based on your goals – give yourself a small daily quota. Once you start hitting this quota regularly with ease move to a bigger number.

Do your one thing every day. Day by day your efforts will compound. Before the year ends you would have done more than 300 repetitions of your one thing – your simple daily habit. Drip by drip you’ll see yourself get more success and more ‘luck’.

How does it work?

This approach gets you to put your 80:20 hat on and gets you to think of that one action that has the biggest impact on what you do.

It also takes the pressure off you to do too much to grow. Instead, you do less, but you do it daily and you do it first thing every day.

Are you going to try this approach?

What is the single action that you’ll take every day?
