Repetition makes you better.
Repeat whatever you want to get better at.
For best results:
• Do it for 90 days minimum or longer.
• Do it with a coach who tells you where to improve.
• Do it with a group of committed people. Try to get practice in a group.
• Record your progress. Note where you were before starting your practice. Then recording every day. For example, when starting a fitness program, take a daily picture.
• Daily repetition gets the best results. For some skills, multiple times a day works better. For example, if you are trying to get better at sales, commit to dialing 100 numbers a day. It may sound like a lot, but that’s the point. You must train your muscles as much as you can. It’s ok if you don’t start there. Increase gradually.
I try to walk the talk:
• Been writing and publishing every day for the past 1,337 days.
• Meditating daily for even longer. Recommitted on Jan 1, 2014. First, 1200 day daily streak, and since then, more than 90% adherence.
• It’s been 38 weeks since I recommitted to sending my marketing newsletter to 11k+ subscribers, and I have been at it since then.
What is it you want to get better at?
Apply this strategy to that thing.
