Make Your Head Your Happy Place and Get Out of It

The best thing we can do for our lives is to make our heads our happy place.

Where there are only happy thoughts, hope, and love.

But that’s not how it works for most of us, it probably does not even work like that for monks.

That’s why once in a while we need to get out of our heads.

There are many ways to do that.

Here are some ideas:

  • Immerse yourself in an interesting experience like watching an engrossing play
  • Focus on someone else, their happiness, challenges, and frustrations
  • Do something physical, a workout, or yoga, and involve a buddy
  • Talk to a stranger

Once you do any of these things or something different that works, you would have broken your chain of thoughts, given your head some space, and you’ll be calm and happy again and ready to take on whatever matters.
