Don’t Put the Cart Before the Horse

We often worry about not working hard enough

Or about procrastinating.

How much we work or whether we are slacking or not, does not matter much until you figure out what you are working on, and what direction you are heading in.

Organizational theorist Kenichi Ohmae said it well, when talking about on the difference between being efficient and being effective:

“Rowing harder doesn’t help if the boat is headed in the wrong direction.”

So make sure that your boat is headed in the right direction before you decide to row harder.
