Sharing who Marie Kondo is for those who have been living under a rock for the past few years and don’t know who she is.
Mario Kondo is a Japanese organizing consultant, author, and TV show host.
She was listed as one of Time’s “100 most influential people” in 2015.
Her method of organising is known as the KonMari method and her catchphrase is ‘spark joy”.
When you use this method, you gather all of your belongings, one category at a time, and then keep only those things that “spark joy”.
How does one apply it to life?
By removing anything that does not ‘spark joy’ or simply by removing anything from your life that you dislike.
So you can get rid of the work that you don’t like doing or quit a job or role you don’t like.
You can remove items and people that you don’t like. Anything or anyone that doesn’t add happiness to your life.
When applying it in life such change does not have to be wholesale. You can make small changes week on week.
On the work front, remove parts that you don’t like bit by bit and keep on doing it until only ‘what you like’ remains.
You can also try adding what you like in your life, but deleting what you don’t like is more important because oftentimes there is no space to add what you like until you delete something first.
Hope you’ll try this.
