You don’t need hours to complete everything you need to do.
There are some things that you can do in minutes and still get value and create output.
For example, you don’t need a lot of time to meditate. It is ok to sit and meditate 3-5 minutes sitting in your bed right after you get up. Even in this short time, you will experience the benefits of a regular practice.
If you want to build a reading habit, do it for 5-10 minutes before you eat lunch or dinner. This way you can finish a book a month. This is better than no reading and citing lack of time as a reason for not doing it.
Same goes for writing. I wrote this post by writing a rough draft after finishing yesterday’s writing. And, completed it today by finding a short window before calling it a day.
I don’t like meditating in a car or a plane but I have done it there on days when I was super busy.
You can make that call that you wanted to make, write the outline of the book you want to write, during small windows of time in your day and do a whole lot of other things in a short window of time.
When you make the most of your minutes a lot of things that remained undone earlier start getting done.
The key to making your minutes work is to ditch the ‘getting ready for work’ mode and learn to get straight into whatever it is that you need to do.
What is it that you can do in under 10-15 minutes? Think about it and then do it.
