Put effort and time into understanding it.
This is the most important thing you can do to make success easy.
And, it is more important than trying to form habits, goals, or build systems.
Because when you want something badly enough, you won’t have to worry about being excited, being disciplined, managing your time, or being productive.
And, you automatically form habits that will help you get what you really want.
Dr. BJ Fogg who founded the Behavior Design Lab at Stanford University researched this and came up with the Fogg Behavior Model.
This model shows that three elements must converge at the same moment for a behavior to occur: Motivation, Ability, and a Prompt.
When a behavior does not occur, at least one of those three elements is missing.
The model also implies that if motivation is high enough, the behavior will happen regardless of difficulty.
Having some systems or right habits will help but they are not more important than wanting something bad enough. So, take time to understand what it is that you really want.
