Where we are now, is because of what we have done in the past.
Did you not finish the book you wanted to write? It’s likely you did not schedule a time to write it.
Did not become the lean mean machine you wanted to? It’s likely you did not watch what you were eating.
Did not get 10 new clients you wanted to? It’s likely you did not put yourself out there often.
Your results tell a lot about what you did or didn’t do.
If you are not happy with your results now it is likely you did not put in the work in the direction that gets those results.
Being sad about it won’t change anything, the reflection will help.
Reflect on what habits did not support your goals.
What distractions took your focus away.
What was avoidable and what was avoidable.
Then plan for how you’ll do it this time.
Make today the day when you’ll fix it and act as you should have. Commit to doing it right for the next 100 days.
If you do that you won’t be sad, worried, confused or lost anymore because you would have either achieved your goals or will be close to it.
Whenever you feel down because of what you could have done or notice that you are being lazy and want to put something off for a day or two, remind yourself that it would not change anything and won’t get you results and satisfaction you are after.
Use that reminder and reflection to act consistently.
That’s the only way to win.
