One can waste a lifetime optimizing for wrong things.
That’s how people spend their whole lives in jobs they don’t like, trying to be productive to get more out of the hours.
Don’t get me wrong. There are good fulfilling jobs, but they are far and fewer. In most cases, it’s an unfulfilling grind.
That is why it is important to take a pause often and ask ourselves if what we are doing matters.
If it doesn’t, delete it from your life.
Once you are down to what you absolutely love, work on optimization.
This process of elimination can take months or years, but it is worth it.
Also, wholesale elimination may not work for most, so go slow, one by one, pick what does not make you come alive and drop it from your life.
Bon voyage. Enjoy this journey of exploration and elimination.
