Our aspirations are small promises that we make to ourselves.
They emerge inside our heads.
Too many aspirations all at once inside our heads can bog us down.
If we start feeling the pressure of our aspirations, we can leave them aside and not go after them at all. It happened to me.
At the beginning of the year 2014, I aspired to write 1000 words every day. I did this for a few days but allowed the burden of this aspiration to pull me down. It was not before long I stopped what I started.
To avoid something like this from happening, we should take all our aspirations off our heads as they emerge and put them in a trusted notebook or a system.
If I were you, I’d be cautious to throw too many aspirations in the air at one go. I’ll pull 1 or 2 from time to time, from the trusted system where I record them, and tackle them one by one.
I am curious now. Do you have a place to record your thoughts and aspirations or you just let them go?
