Back in 2013, Derek Sivers and I were working on our first book together. We had set a deadline and were working towards completing the book by then.
It was an in-depth, research-based book and took a lot of work. One day through our conversation Derek noticed that I was hustling a lot to finish the work. That is when Derek told me to be kind to myself.
I did not completely embrace it then but I know now that you can be kind to yourself and still achieve what you want to.
You just need good planning and discipline to carry through your plans. The only thing you need to wary of is the procrastination devil.
