The Mind Gym

Most of us are exposed to the mind gym.

Even without making any conscious effort to engage our mind in exercise.

How?

We read, talk, mingle with people and go through social experiences. All of these put the mind to use. Then we use our minds to make a living in diverse fields. So, we exercise it without knowing.

If we don’t use it, it will atrophy like any other muscle.

The only way to keep it healthy is to keep on using it and keep on taking care of it by way of practices like prayer, gratefulness, meditation, good thoughts, and enough sound sleep. That’s about upkeep.

Now let’s go to the other side where we overdo things and put pressure on mind, more than it can take. This happens by overworking either by our own choice or when pushed by clients or bosses. We need to be wary of such situations.

So whenever you find toxic bosses or clients – get rid of them as soon as you can.

More than anyone or anything else – we need to be careful of ourselves and cultural conformity that leads us to overwork, sleep less than we should and not give ourselves carefree leisure hours every day.

This way we can keep our mind healthy and get it to serve us well till the end of our lives. We need it more than most other things in life. Do you agree?
